Originally hired to build and manage the compensation, benefits and HRIS departments for SEMATECH. Led the design, implementation and management of all compensation, benefits programs, and HR systems selection and implementation. Led the negotiations with providers for annual benefits renewal processes. Supports/ facilitates Compensation Committee of Board of Directors with executive compensation, bonuses, strategy, and design. Conceived, developed and chaired the Board of Directors of a Central Texas employer’s coalition - The Better Benefits Coalition. The coalition designed and delivered a highly cost effective Rx carve-out (PBM) alternative to existing insurance products.

Lummus-Crest,Houston, TX (01/1988-03/1990)
Lummus Global is a leading provider of process technologies used in the oil & gas and petrochemical industries, as well as a global EPC contractor. The company is widely recognized for its expertise in ethylene and olefins technologies, having licensed approximately 40 percent of all such projects worldwide over the last decade.

Manager, Human Resource Services
In coordination with site HR directors, led for all common HR functions for US and Canadian operations to ensure consistency in execution. Also responsible for defining and managing the compensation, benefits, payroll, HRIS, manpower planning, and relocation (expatriates, foreign nationals, third-country nationals) for all international projects (mid-east, Asia, Europe, Africa and South America). Managed all HR aspects including contracting for approximately 350 expatriates.  Also served as HR Director for ABB Randall, a Houston based subsidiary of ABB with one supporting staff member. Manager, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS & Payroll
Led the design, implementation and management all compensation and benefits programs plus HRIS and payroll. Led various HR start-up efforts, merger due diligence, consolidations and acquisitions as the company was restructured, merged and spun-off during the collapse of the global oil industry in the early ‘80s. Led the successful conversion from a defined benefit to defined contribution pension plan and managed some 3000 retirees.

Great Southern was one of the largest insurance carriers in Texas and one of the 60 largest insurance companies in the US. Now part of Americo Group.

            Assistant Secretary & Manager Business Conservation
Youngest board elected secretary, member of the corporate compensation committee and pioneer of a business conservation unit to conserve existing business from competitors. Led a team of 6 professionals responsible for servicing all aspects of a national block of insurance business. Successfully salvaged $Ms in potential lost business for the company. Methodology subsequently copied by other carriers.

A. S. Hansen was an international employee benefits and consulting business based in Deerfield, later merged with Mercer-Meidinger (now part of the Marsh Group)

Pension Certification Analyst, then Supervisor Client Services
Certified the pension benefits for an assigned block of customers. Conducted annual plan valuations. Assisted in implementation of ERISA qualifications of customer pension plans.
